These have to be the MOST heartwarming videos on the internet. The genuine delight, tears, etc., of the loved ones when their military family comes home — it just doesn’t get ANY better than that! Thank you for producing these videos to show us these happy returns!

You have to have a heart of stone not to tear up to this stuff. I’m a grown ass man, but I cry like a little girl when I watch these videos.

I wish I video taped my brother’s reaction when I finally came home from Basic. I forgot to mention how long I’d been gone, so I surprised him during one of his classes in college. Damn.

Watching these videos brings tears to my eyes because I did the exact same thing, but we didn’t have a video camera back then!!! Here’s the story: I joined the Army in 1982 (yea, I’m old!) and told my parents I couldn’t come home for Christmas that year because I was the new person on the block. However, I enlisted my sisters, brother-in-law and step-father (at the time) to help me surprise them. Under the guise of forgetting a gift at my mother’s house, my brother-in-law and younger sister drove an hour each way to pick me up at the airport. When we got to my Dad’s I stayed in the kitchen, in my dress uniform, until my older sister said his gift was in the kitchen. When he walked around the corner and saw me he let out what I call a parent’s cry for their child. He held me so tight and we both cried! Everyone else came running into the kitchen to see what was going on and they all started crying – even people I didn’t know! Then, we to my Mom’s. It was pretty much the same thing, except there wasn’t a crowd of people, just a cranky Mom because her daughter couldn’t be there for Christmas, sitting on the couch. She screamed when she saw me, then said all my gifts were mailed to me. However, they were in a box in the basement because my step-father didn’t mail them! Then she got REALLY upset because everyone knew I was coming home except her!

It was a Christmas we will never forget and I’m glad I surprised them!

I am so proud to be an American… and am so proud of the men and women who defend me, who secure the future of my children. On so many levels… thank you. And to their families who await their safe return, thank you. God bless these service men and women and their loved ones.

I have no one serving in the military, but I feel everyone that is away from home is part of my family. I cry when families are re-united and my heart is honest. I lost my son a few years ago not to military, and I look at the reunions and think of my son. God bless our troops and bring them home to their families. There is nothing like seeing these videos and crying along with everyone. To the military, “Thank you for all you do for us”

This is AMAZING!!!!! I am sooo proud of our men and woman who serve us everyday. It’s so great that the war is now over and that the soldiers are back home, just in time for the holidays.

I was stationed at CENTCOM in the Middle East twice as a Petty Officer with the USN, and I was unable to watch these videos without tears streaming down my face. I am so thankful for the men and woman that have been/will be reunited with loved ones and grieve immensly for my brothers and sisters in arms and their families that are unable to experience this due to their ultimate sacrifice. Regardless of your feelings towards political policies, please, always embrace our men and woman in uniform and their families.

holy fuckballs i wept like a toddler watching these vids

i was in the the British military for 26 years, saw active service in EVERY conflict from Falklands to Second Gulf, Im meant to be a rough tough cynical killer and im sitting here with tears rolling down my face, rembering every home coming when my kids reacted like those on the films, (but i feel more sorry those families who never got to have that special moment), who’s fallen mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters are the real heros; who gave everything for not countries or governments or political parties or ‘big companies’, but to keep their mates and familiers safe and free !
haveing said that, my partner says i shouldnt watch any more as its makeing me cry and sad, thats not the case,,,,i feel like standing up and cheering !

I have NO idea what the heck ROTC, a G.I, or any part of the military is! How would you move up in rank? So many questions to ASKS!!

I love this site. I’ve been tearing up looking at these videos. I have a boyfriend who’s in the army, and it’s tough being without him. If he did something like this, I would love it. Before he went back on deployment, I gave him the phone numbers of my parents’ cells in case he ever wanted to surprise me. My brother is Navy and my parents tried to hide him in our hallway when he came home, but the excuse they used to get me to come downstairs was pretty bad. They told me they wanted me to come down and when I did they asked me what I wanted from the local hardware store. I said “Alright, where’s my brother hiding ?” So hopefully if my boyfriend does do something like this, he’ll make them use a better excuse at surprising me, and with luck we’ll get it on video to send here.

These are the most beautiful things i have seen in a while. Tear up as i watch them and i rarely cry. I love the ones with “man’s best friend” in them, i love the dogs’ reactions.

It’s Christmas right now, and it really puts things in perspective for me. I was upset that my Dad had to work at the hospital today, but watching these videos are making me realise how lucky I really am. I cried shamelessly as I watched the happiness bloom in these families – good job Welcome Home Blog!

All of it got to me. It was amazing to see how excited the dogs got. You could tell they recognized their owner and had missed them dearly. God bless all of those troops and their families. I can’t thank you enough.

They ARE awesome arent they Scott! My favorites by far are the one with the little girl, prolly bout 3 yrs old, and she sees her daddy and keeps sayin over and over “Daddy I love you Daddy. I missed you Daddy.” And the one where the soldier is standing on the porch his dog is greeting him. The soldier gets on his knees and this big ole dog jumps up and wraps his front legs around the soldier. I know they are just animals, but they are a part of 98% of families everywhere. They do NOT forget the love and care we as their humans give them. The dog videos are just as much tearjerkers as the others! I love them all. God bless these wonderful men and women!!!

I wasn’t even 30 seconds in to the first video and I was crying.

My boyfriend just enlisted in the military and i don’t know how to handle it. I’m still in school and he graduates this year. He is leaving for training in Oklahoma this March. I don’t know what to expect or how i’m going to live my life without him around. I know it’s a long time from now until he actually goes to war but its already been hard enough watching him go to his drills all day and night and him coming home so soar. If this is just what the training is like what will it be like when he gets shipped out for real? What did you others do when your loved ones left you like this? I love my boyfriend so much and if anything happened to him i don’t know what i would do. If someone can please give me some advise, i greatly need it right now…

I’m ashamed to admit that I have never served in the military so I could not possibly know the amount of joy, and the relief that the soldiers and family members feel when they first see each other after returning home. I would like to thank all the family members that share these special moments with the rest of the world. For all the soldiers in our Armed Forces I would like to say “Thank You!” for everything you do. You are the silent hero’s that keeps this nation safe. I realize that a simple Thank You can never repay the sacrifices you have made. You are men and women of honor, and that is something that no one can take away from you. Be safe, and we hope to see many more videos of our “Hero’s” coming home and reuniting with their loved ones.

i am at work and i got people looking at me like i am crazy, i mean 1 guy crying like a baby, and 5 girls trying to comfort him. every man in my family is in the military, so it means a lot to me to be able to see these men and women greet their loved ones in such an amazing way.

I cried so much during these videos and im only 14, my dads in the air force and as got posted to wagga wagga for 3 years but my brother, mum and i have to stay here as my brothers finshing year 12 and mum didnt want him to move schools in such a busy year at school. I Miss my dad so much and cried when he left and didnt want to go i know how these kids fill he once got deploid to dubai for 4 months and i hate it :’(

My dad served in the Air Force for 23 years…Seeing these kids cry when they see their moms and dads again makes me emotional at heart…I am a grown ass man that is not afraid to show emotion & cry at moments like these.

iam a swedish soldier in Afghanistan and even if being a soldier is not så great in sweden i really appreciate this kind of videos. Having to say goodbye and praying that your older relatives will be there when you get home again. I don’t think anyone truly understands your sacrifice. Some say it is your choice…I could never do it. THANK YOU for giving your life, time with your loved ones and coming home forever changed. You will continue to always be in my prayers. THANK YOU to your loved ones that sacrifice everyday also.

Very touching~! I teared up too. I may not be from the U.S but I did spend some time in the Army in Singapore. We were deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq too but to support the medical/peace keeping side of things. I never got the chance to surprise my family as the army will always call them up in advance. These remind me of my reunion from when i served for 4 from 99 to 03. I still get teared up not only from all great reunions but from all the memories.

This is amazing!! Makes you forget about all the bad things going on all around us. At least for a few minutes. I am the proudest father of a 23 year old Soldier and every time he comes home I cry like a baby. It is funny what happens when good raw emotion takes you over for a time…All the bravado and pretentiousness goes out the door and your heart takes over. More men and women should look at these videos so they could go through what we go through watching these clips. Thanks to all the Service Members of the Armed Forces for everything you do to allow us to live our lives the way we do.

I loved watching all the videos I cried and laughed, I now have swollen eyes and runny nose but who cares welcome home guys you all did good so so proud of you xxx

It was something I watched that just makes your heart so full that they tears have to come…. I cried through all of them… reminded me of my dad coming back from Vietnam, many years ago. Thank god these children and family have skype and the internet, i remember my mom running to the mail box. And when the envelope came with the Red White and Blue on it, it was her time and we knew. Thank you for sharing this wonderful moments.

These would have been so much better without the music.

I love this stuff. I hope to do this for my own family when the time comes.

This is such a great site. Takes a lot to make me cry but this just gets me every time. If ever I have a bad day I watch this and just think how bad the days must have been for those serving and their families whilst on deployment – puts it all into perspective. My Fiance is in the Army and watching these videos makes me appreciate him even more. He is leaving for basic on our 1 year anniversary.

all tear jerkers to say the least…..only complaint: the songs are too loud and you can not hear the ‘participants’ and what they are saying, especially the kids!! please tone down the songs volume.

Forget TV this is the best entertainment i could hope to watch, although i went through over a full box of tissues. Watched over 45 minutes of videos on here and bawled nonstop the entire time. My eyes actually hurt. All such beautiful and touching moments. Also makes you appreciate your loved ones even more. I cry every time I watch the Welcome Home Blogs. My husband is in the Army and I was born in an Army family. My brother was killed in Afghanistan May 30, 2011 and every time I see a brother-sister reunion I bawl like a baby.

I was having a horrible day, to be totally honest. These videos, they made me cry, but they were tears of joy. I am beyond grateful for ALL of the sacrifices our service men and women make and they truly make me PROUD to be an American. I have spent every day of the last 2.5 years with my daughter and I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like for any of you to be away from your families. I don’t even remember why my day was going so bad anymore…Thank you ALL for your service and may you all come home safely!!!
