“My fiance Jason decided to surprise his family by flying up to Michigan on February 10th after he got back from his 8 month deployment to Afghanistan. They weren’t expecting to see him until March when he was scheduled to be home for a month of leave.

His dad knew about the surprise as well as one of his sisters for travel reasons. I was the lucky one to got to pick him up from the airport and drive him to their house!!!”

Max. We agree! Each month, proceeds generated from the advertisements you see on Welcome Home Blog go to a different charity that serves our military, its veterans, and their families.

Last month’s donation went to the Fisher House Foundation, an organization that provides a “home away from home” for military families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. Next on our list is Homes For Our Troops (homesforourtroops.org), an organization that builds specially adapted homes for our severely injured veterans.
