U.S. Airman Surprises His Mother After 6 Months Overseas

“My brother is an Airman and came home on leave before heading to Alaska for 3 years. He hasn’t been home in 6 months. We decided to surprise my mom by luring her to my work under the false pretense that I had injured myself, but when she walked into the building she saw my brother standing there instead. It was a cruel lie, but totally worth it . Just a warning; she screams pretty loudly!”

6 months doesn’t seem like long otherwise but when you are away from home or forced to be a single parent due to a deployment, it feels like FOREVER.

I love how the moms grab them and hug them first and usually it’s the moms who break the hug first. The big strong military men hardly ever let go first. Thank you to all for serving and sacrificing the way you all do. You are all loved by more people than you know.
