With Hurricane Matthew creating historic floods in areas of North Carolina, a girl’s 13th birthday wasn’t a complete disaster thanks to a kind gesture from local National Guard Soldiers. While patrolling homes in the Lumberton area and speaking with the Scott family, the soldiers learned that the floods came the day before their daughter’s birthday. So, the soldiers made it their duty to bring the teen a little birthday joy.
