Airman and his family reunite with their beloved pet thanks to Project Active Duty

When Doug Locke headed for deployment in August 2015, he and his family where heartbroken at the thought of leaving behind their beloved pet Layla.

They turned to the Arizona Humane Society for help. Through the Arizona Humane Society Project Active Duty program, Layla was matched with a local foster family who provided the pup with love and care during the length of Locke’s deployment.

An emotional Locke family reunited with Layla 18 months later after MSgt. Locke deployment was finished.
