Navy Lieutenant’s long road to recovery and community leadership celebrated at pirate festival

19 years of service, 8 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan Navy Lieutenant Ramesh Haytasingh had injuries here and there but it was a jet skiing accident that changed his life. Lt. Haytasingh suffered several injuries including a broken neck as well as being unable to speak and taste for 2 years. But it’s his soaring spirit and his passion to serve his community that keeps him going and aided in his long road of recovery. That’s why this American hero has earned the title of “Community Hero” in the 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Gasparilla Pirate Fest and the Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates.
