U.S. Army vet reunited with service dog after 6 years apart

When Sergeant Aaron Yoder was deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 he was partnered with Bart to find bombs and keep their unit safe. It was one unfortunate day that the two were being attacked with bullets. Sgt. Yoder did all that he could to protect Bart by covering his dog with his body and as a result he was shot in the leg.

This caused them to be separated, Sgt. Yoder flown back to the states for numerous surgeries and Bart to carry in with the mission. With Bart ready to retire, Aaron’s mom contacted the Army and was able to get Bart back home to her son.
