Daniel Gomez, 10, and his sister Isabella, 5, just thought they were throwing out the first pitch but were shocked to discover that the catchers were really mom and dad. The kids hadn’t seen their parents in 9 months. Both Army Chief Warrant Officer Jose Gomez, and Captain Elizabeth Gomez were serving overseas in Iraq and Kuwait while the kids lived with their grandparents. Thanks to the Yankees pulling off a such an elaborate surprise reunion there wasn’t a dry eye in the stadium.
