Boy whose policeman-dad died in 2011 crash gets escort to school from 100 officers

More than 100 law enforcement officers gathered from across Texas to walk Kevin Will from his house to Willow Creek Elementary School in Tomball ISD Tuesday where he would start his first of kindergarten. Joe Gamaldi, second vice president of the Houston Police Officers’ Union, said he and his fellow officers wanted Will to know his blue family would be there for him after his Will’s father, Kevin Will, a Houston police officer, was killed in 2011 while on duty.

“There wasn’t a dry eye in the house,” Gamaldi said. “The first day of kindergarten is a very special day.”
