Decorated war veteran has home totally redone by Charleston volunteers

A decorated war veteran and a purple heart recipient has been staying in a motel for months because his home was unlivable.

As a beloved member of the Charleston community, his fellow neighbors and members of the Charleston Police Department came together to make his home safe and habitable again.

In an unexpected surprise, just after church and a stop for coffee, a police escort came and brought Charlie Ferrell to his home that he thought was in disrepair and was met by the group of volunteers who worked on his house to welcome him home again.
