Disabled Marine veteran blessed with handicap-accessible mortgage-free home

Lance Corporal Cody Evans lost both legs during a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He was honored for his service at an event sponsored by A Soldiers Journey Home – a foundation that built an accessible home for him and his mother. The foundation joined together with John Hersey High School to raise funds to build the handicap accessible home. Students hundreds of miles away dedicated their time to design a home specific to LCpl Evans needs and then got to see all of their hard work pay off when the house they envisioned became a reality. Welcome home LCpl. Cody Evans! You can see his original homecoming arrival to Chicago’s O’Hare airport here.
